Since Lushomo got started, we have focused mainly on turning numbers and words into great looking visualisations. We now have a rich set of visuals on our online portfolio, and many more in our bulging folders of design files.
But, in the last few months we have branched out into new and exciting media and creative tools.
First we started experimenting with animation, and will share some impactful video samples very soon. But what we’re particularly excited about are our brand-new interactive infographics. This is the future of information design, and it is exhilarating to be one of the only African information design agencies to be working with this latest set of capabilities. Right now we are programming interactive graphics from scratch. Soon we will share some of this work – a project for the World Health Organization, featuring adolescent health data on a map that’s being coded as we speak. We’ve also been gathering data from various sources using some existing tools, for example this detailed and interactive Africa-wide circle graphic in Tableau Public. Take a look and let us know what you think.
