The background

The Lesotho National Human Development Report 2014/15 (NHDR) was the result of a joint project by the UNDP Lesotho Country Office and the Government of Lesotho. The project supported a survey to assess the Status of the Youth (2012) in Lesotho, which formed a foundation for more robust research on youth and development in the context of human development.

The brief

To produce the Lesotho NHDR, an infographic-rich report of more than 200 pages.

Our response

We undertook a data cleanup and analysis, and provided advanced mapping techniques and information design to present the research. We provided several initial style proposals, and once selected, recreated a variety of tables and charts to be consistent to the overall style.  Dozens of infographics were created, highlighting key points per chapter. Summary graphics were presented as double page spreads at the end of each chapter.

Publication
A bright colour palette was employed throughout, and illustrations designed by students at the Limkokwing University of Technology in Lesotho were used for chapter openers.
