Website design for the Capacity Building Programme for Employment Promotion (CBPEP)
The Capacity Building Programme for Employment Promotion (CBPEP) was a multi-year, EU-funded initiative, working at the interface of government, the private sector and civil society in South Africa, to build capacity and infuse innovative thinking into the approach to solving the growing unemployment crisis.
The brief
As part of a broader communications strategy to combat unemployment, Lushomo developed a website for the Capacity Building Programme for Employment Promotion (CBPEP). The site showcased the programme's projects, news, social media updates, and background information, while also featuring inspiring stories, event updates, and a resource repository. This multi-faceted approach aimed to raise awareness and share the program's successes in fostering job opportunities.
Our approach
The website was designed to present information in a structured and user-friendly way, with easy navigation and regular updates. We prioritized visual appeal and interactive elements to enhance user experience and engagement, building off of the branding we had already developed for them. Our aim was to make the site optimized and customized to their needs.
Visual language
The website design incorporated the programme's branding, using the signature arrowhead motif to symbolise progress. Deep-etched photography was used to create a dynamic visual experience and humanise the serious issue of unemployment.
The deliverables
Though the website is no longer live due to the completion of the programme, it was built to include multiple pages with interactive elements, videos, scrolling summary pages, and a repository of the programme's history.
